Dr Julia Courtney is a dual qualified Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist based at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald. She has 18years' experience caring for babies, children and young people across a wide range of paediatric conditions, and is known for her warm, reassuring and family-centred approach.

She graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 2006 and completed specialist paediatric and neonatal training throughout Northern Ireland, including tertiary neonatal and paediatric intensive care at the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital and the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. She was appointed Consultant Paediatrician in 2018.

Alongside her NHS work, Dr Courtney has a strong interest in neonatal medicine, child development, quality improvement and medical leadership. She has presented and published research nationally and internationally, and remains actively involved in teaching and medical education.
